Sewing/Quilting With A Friend, Again.

We enjoyed the Winter Blast Fireworks so much that we decided to come back next year. We also want to do Quartzfest (ham radio) again that is held at Quartzsite. We were the only ones leaving the RV camping spots at the SARA Park rodeo ground, Lake Havasu, AZ, as campers can stay for the fireworks tonight (this was a Sunday) and leave late tomorrow. But we had an exciting place to be.

We spent the week with our friends in Gilbert, AZ. They are the ones we met while at a campground in MN in 2023. We stayed with them for a week this past November. It was so much fun to see them again. They have an RV garage with full hookups; they pull out their 5th wheel and let us pull in and hook up. So nice.

What she and I did most was sew! We both love to quilt…and shop for fabric. HAHA We did some of that, too, as Joann Fabric & Crafts Store is closing all their stores, it was announced.

Great food eating out for Taco Tuesday, Teppanyaki, Food Brewery, and food made by both of us. We watched her play in a pickleball tournament with her team. It was fun to watch.

They are a great couple and we are so thankful for their friendship.

P.S. I almost forgot my most favorite place to eat! It is called Costa Vida and people laugh when I say I would rather eat there than any fancy restaurant. I could eat there every single day, not kidding. The food just touches my taste buds like no other! 🙂 We had some of the restaurants around where we used to live and I am sad there isn’t one on every corner of the country, you know, like McDonalds! So, seriously, every place we travel in this country, I check to see if there is a Costa Vida in the area. Yeah – Gilbert area has 2!

  1. Love the log cabin blocks! Great colors! That reminds me that I still need to finish my log cabin Christmas tree that I started a year or more ago. 🙄 I’ve never tried that restaurant – I’ll have to look for one!

  2. Such beautiful pictures! Is the one quilt shown on reverse, or is that two quilts? It’s so fun to shop and quilt with someone who shares your craft, I’m sure. Next time we’re in Arizona, I’ll have to be sure to try Costa Vida.

  3. There is a Costa Vida 10 minutes from our house, right in Oxford! I never even heard of it, but I know I am going to go eat there now! The quilt is just beautiful and I love the colors and the look. How fun for you!

    1. All the more reason for me to come see you! Haha My favorite, the only meat I get, is the sweet pork. Thanks for the nice words; the quilt was fun to make and to see how the log cabin pattern would turn out with the big blocks.

  4. The quilts are beautiful! The only Costa Vida I could find anywhere near where we go is in Flower Mound, TX. I will have to keep it in mind. It sounds like you were in heaven with your friends, sewing, eating and other fun activities. Your smile is big and beautiful!

    1. I always have the sweet pork. That is what my tastebuds love! 🙂 Sweet pork salad, burrito, and enchiladas. The house dressing is my favorite, too.
