Kevin and I drove south out of Newport, Oregon along Hwy 101. We stopped often at the beaches. While it was cold and incredibly windy, the sun was out. But we still needed to wear our winter coats. The coast is beautiful. I really like the rocks that the waves crash into.

We saw Seal Rock where there are huge rocks. Siuslaw National Forest, Yachats, was fantastic with a “blow hole” area.

The power of the water just takes my breath away!

Spouting Horn and Thore’s Well were mesmerizing! We just stood there and watched the waves come in and spray up. We didn’t walk to Thore’s Well but stood on top and watched as people stood right next to it and got very wet.

In Newport, OR, we drove past Yaquina Bay Lighthouse. It is all boarded up and no visitors.

I call this photo – Peace.
Beautiful photos!

“Peace“ is the perfect name for it. I love Kevin’s casual pose next to such raging waters! When we went to Thors well, in June, it snowed a little bit! Or maybe it was just pellets of ice. It was shocking seeing peoples so close to the blowhole, we kept waiting for someone to get knocked in. I would love to see that lighthouse get restored.

Oh my goodness, that would be horrible if someone fell in. I can’t even think what would happen to them! Yikes.
