Minneapolis, MN & Kevin Gets Lots Of Much Needed Advice!

Someone Forgot To Put The Rack Down, Bumpy Road, Minneapolis, MN 08/23

This is what happens when someone forgets to lay down the toilet paper stand before a travel day. They say, whoever “they” are, that any type of RV going down the freeway is like a earthquake. I believe it – some of the roads we have been on are enough to tear things off the walls! I thought this was hilarious, how the toilet paper unrolled and yet made a pretty nice and uniform pile as it went back and forth. 🤣

We have a few relatives buried in Minneapolis, Minnesota, so we went to visit the graves. As we got out we were surprised to see the van in front of us had the back open, seat down, and two young adults laying down kissing. That was a unique thing to see in a cemetery! HAHA

I got up slowly and told Kevin I am still on California time, you know, two time zones away, and we haven’t been on Pacific time since Aug 5, but hey, I am sticking to my story! 🙂 I got in the shower and as I turned off the water to put shampoo on my head, the shower head fell, cut my hand, and then landed on the floor. I am so glad it didn’t crack the floor. Kevin came running to see if I fell. My hand was bleeding and so he handed me a dry washcloth. Put the shower head back, shampooed my hair, turned on the water to rinse, then turned it off. Down the shower head fell again. Ugh, what is going on! Kevin came in again and the said the shower head had to be pushed down into the holder more. Thanks and ouch; got about an inch size cut on the top of my hand.

Walk Around A Lake, Lebanon Hills Regional Park, Apple Valley, MN 08/23

There is a lake here at Lebanon Hills Regional Park. We got our walking sticks and hats and enjoyed the easy 1 mile walk.

Leaves Changing, Lebanon Hills Park, Apple Valley, MN 08/23

We saw some leaves already changed to deep red colors; yes, the daylight is getting shorter.

Heavenly Food! Costa Vida, Apple Valley, MN 08/23

As we got home (footnote 1) Kevin asked if I wanted to go to Costa Vida Mexican Grill. I said, “Don’t ever just offer Costa Vida without knowing I will say yes.” HAHA Off we went. We ate inside and it was as delicious as always. Rated: Every Day! We noticed people, from 1 person to 5, come in, not order anything but run to the drink area, write something down, talk to someone behind the counter, and run out. It took us a little bit to notice this pattern. Then we saw they had a treasure-looking map in their hands. How fun – some sort of savager hunt. They were all in such a hurry so we didn’t ask them any details. HA

Just A Few Of The Rides In The Mall Of America, MN 08/23

One evening we went to Mall of America. It is a thing to do when here. 😃  The walls in the hallways are white with sparkly fixtures hanging around. It is several stories tall and the footprint was much smaller than I thought it would be. We walked through the center where there is a log ride, several roller coasters, ferris wheel, and more. The entire place wasn’t crowded at all. It was fun to walk around even though we didn’t really have any store we wanted to go visit. Kevin wanted to eat there so we looked at several restaurants. The mall, even though not a lot of people, was very loud, so we looked for a quiet place. We ate at Cadillac Ranch. He had a Jucy Lucy – two hamburger patties with cheese cooked in the middle. I had pulled pork sandwich. Both were good. We rated them: Once Every 6 Months.

We had found a parking space at the very front of the mall on the east side. That was very nice – big enough for our long truck. We didn’t have to park in the parking garage.

We went to Minnesota History Center, downtown St Paul, in the afternoon and evening. On Thursdays they are open late, until 8:00pm instead of 4:00pm. That is nice. We very much enjoyed the place. They had a lot of hands on exhibits and real life, Then vs Now, Weather, Native American History, etc. The quilt, in the picture above, had a sign that said, “A Gift Is A Symbol Of The Giver’s Regard For Person Receiving It.” Native Americans make Star Quilts like this as gifts.

They also had Charles Shultz display of Charlie Brown. Charles lived in this area. It was a very nice attraction with lots of fun tidbits. For example, the main characters were named for people he knew. And Peppermint Patty – he walked across the room, saw a peppermint patty candy on the table and thought that would be a cute name. HAHA

Charla & Lucy Giving Advice To Kevin, MN History Ctr, St Paul, MN 08/23

SOME PEOPLE need lots of advice! HAHAHA

  1. “Home” is where we park it. Home is our 2022 Alliance Avenue, 36 ft, 5th wheel.

  1. My first thought seeing the toilet paper on the floor was that it looked pretty! It certainly had a pattern to the folding. Sounds like you’re having great adventures – other than the shower incident (Yikes!). The regional park looks very pretty. I’m not sure I would visit that mall. I have heard it is huge. Even so, I hardly ever go to regular malls! I’d rather be at a park. Hope Kevin got the advice he needed. But if not, well, it only cost him 5 cents!

    1. Ha I laughed at that toilet paper. I thought it would have gone clear across the floor and not make such a cute little pile. Haha
I tease Kevin about how it took two of us to give him advice…so much needed. Hahahaha

    1. That is weird. Our blog is a regular website. We only post it on Facebook just so people can see that there’s a new post. I am having trouble signing in to make comments on someone else’s blog so maybe it’s the service we use. I will try to do some research and find out. Thank you for letting me know.

  3. Oh thank you, that’s so kind of you! It’s probably my phone because it is eight years old. I thought I would mention it though because I know some people don’t have Facebook.

I forgot to say how much I love the photo of you and Kevin with Lucy! both relaxed and happy, It’s super cute.
