John & Jane Doe, AZ

I got out my new Pampered Chef Pastry Mat and made a new recipe – tortillas.

As I was preparing, I was curious about the difference between the Flatbread recipe I have and this new tortilla recipe. What is the difference, besides the thickness? Turns out not much. HA While the tortilla uses water, the Flatbread uses milk and water all the same amounts of that and everything else. Well, the tortillas were incredibly easy to make! Especially since I used the dough part of my Ninja Food Processor. It couldn’t be any easier! Fun to roll out the tortillas on the new mat using the size markings.

Lets go to Rotary Park and watch some high school baseball. There was a tournament going. When we got there we saw several fields with girls playing softball and one field with baseball. We took our camp chairs and plopped down behind home plate. It was really fun to watch. Kevin said he overheard one of the parents mention “Salt Lake City.” (We used to live in that area.) So between innings he asked where they were from. Salt Lake City! No way. In fact, this lady is from the city we used to lived in! Then she said this team is the Utah Traveling Team, The other team? Kearns High School (in Salt Lake City valley). What a small world. Her husband is the coach of the traveling team; he used to be the coach for the other team. LOL That was just icing on the cake for us.

Route 66 through Oatman, Arizona, and over the top and back down to Kingman is one of our most favorite drives in the entire USA. The day was another glorious sunny and warm day. We stopped at Sitgreaves Pass and walked around the memorials. This is an area where people have placed memorials for those who have passed away. We always stop here and walk around for a time of reflection and views of numerous mountains ranges as far as the eyes can see. Someone even placed a bench near their loved ones name.

We went to Mountain View Cemetery in Kingman for Find A Grave (footnote 1). This cemetery is laid out well and most of the 54 photo requests have the lot and grave listed. Well, we didn’t find even one of the requests! This can be for several reasons: headstone not placed, misinformation, etc. And yes, we were at the right cemetery and the right list. The thing that I found interesting and sad is that there are 12 Jane Doe and 25 John Doe! Isn’t that sad?! Some of the John or Jane Does on Find A Grave have listed where and when the body was found, description, stuff like that. And not old! One died before 1975 but the rest are from 1975 to 2025! Sad stuff. This, in a cemetery of over 11,000 “residents.”

At the cemetery, while I was looking for headstones, Kevin parked the car in the shade, fixed the windshield crack we got when we came back from the Christmas cruise and the rock chip we got today! Then he turned the car into the sun, following the directions. It was the perfect place to fix a windshield. HAHA

We looked for awhile and then went to Cracker Barrel for a late lunch. The waitress kept saying to Kevin that I have a beautiful smile and then she started calling me Princess.

Feb 9 is our full-time RVing anniversary! It has been four years and we have loved it. We have been to 48 states in that time. Don’t want to stop. This was a Travel Day to Lake Havasu, AZ. Winter Blast fireworks show, here we come.

We camp at Lake Havasu Rodeo Grounds which is part of the 1,100 acre SARA Park where the Winter Blast is and where the fireworks are launched. Our site is excellent! Even better than last year. Met our nice neighbors – 2 RVs camping together. They are from Tucson area and this is their second time, too. They like this row better than they had before because they were way in the back last year. Some RV friends of ours with their 2 grandsons are here as well. We first met them at Bash (an RV rally mostly made up of people still working while on the road) and then hung out at Escapades (a big RV rally) with them. We invited them to go to Red Robin for dinner tonight and they came. Fun time visiting and catching up and yummy food.

This is the Valentine yard flag I made and quilted. This year I am making a new one for each month/holiday.

*The blog posts are taken from my daily travel journal. Would you believe – it takes me a 1/2 day every week to whittle down a week’s worth of journal so it won’t be too long for the post each week. HAHA Thank you for reading!

  1. I enjoyed this interesting post! I find the most ordinary experiences can be a window to depth, and you capture that well with your photographs and commentary. I really like the photograph of Kevin photographing you photographing the mountains and valleys! How fun to do a quilt flag for every month of the year, too. Will March be in green? 😁

I think it is always sad when there is an unmarked grave or a marker where the person is unknown.

  3. Happy 4th Anniversary, Princess! I love the heart flag as well as the “travel means life” flag. I have a similar pastry mat; I use it when making pie crust. The Sitgreaves Pass looks beautiful – a perfect place to pause and ponder. Safe travels, and I hope you enjoy the fireworks!

    1. Thank you! The “travel means life” flag is wood and we had a painter at Silver Dollar City, in Branson, Missouri, customize it for us. When we saw it, we picked a 5th wheel that looked exactly like ours. We handed it to her, gave the info to add, and paid. You pick up purchases there as you leave the park. When we got home to HOWE we saw it had been switched and wasn’t the same 5th wheel. Well, at least the wording was right…and it is very cute. 😃
